The Proverbial Africa
An opening drinks reception and gala dinner will be held at Balliol College on the evening of 10 March from 7pm and will feature keynote speakers including James Mwangi, Executive Director of Dalberg; Richard Dowden, Director of the Royal African Society; and Themba Baloyi Founder and Executive Director of Discovery Insure. The gala dinner will also provide an opportunity to meet with our Forum speakers, network with other delegates, make connections and begin discussions around business in Africa.
The full day Forum, held on Saturday 11 March will feature speakers who will share with you their personal insights, experiences, successes and failures from leading organisations in Africa.

Prof Lopes has led several UN institutions, most recently as the Executive Secretary at the Economic Commission for Africa, based in Addis Ababa. He has recently being appointed as a member of the African Union reform team led by Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame, and is a visiting Fellow at the Oxford Martin School, University of Oxford.
