Jesus College Hockey Club is a big name in inter-college hockey, playing in the lofty heights of Div 2 and aiming even higher this year.

We play games at weekends through Michaelmas and Hilary. We will hopefully have a few training sessions thrown in as well.

Whether you’re an experienced player or never picked up one of those hockey bats before, come along – everyone will get a game.

If you are interested, email Ed Whittaker at or keep an eye out for us at Freshers’ Fair. Plus, check out JCHC on Twitter here.

The latest from JCHC (TT15)

A solid Michaelmas with wins against Brasenose and Trinity saw JCHC promoted to Div 2 and Captain Lester knighted for services to hockey. Even the angriest man in college hockey Hugo ‘Hugoals’ Manson managed to smile. An tactical early exit from Cuppers left us free to focus on the Challenge of Div 2 in Hilary and despite back-to-back wins we narrowly missed out on promotion. The season ended with goalkeeper and JCHC legend Tom Downes departing. Big shoes to fill….

The latest from JCHC (HT14)

This term saw the start of a new league campaign and a new era for JCHC. Player-Manager Fordham was looking to build on the momentum of their current winning streak and some very successful pre-season training. Against the tough opposition of Lincoln who were undefeated the previous season having not conceded a goal, thanks in part to them having the Uni 2nds Goalkeeper, It was going to be a tough ask. The absense of on form striker Sam Skillcorn added to the enormity of the task but the angriest man in college hockey, Hugo Manson managed to stay calm for long enough to produce an inspired performance scoring 4 before he had to be subbed off. Lester and Mooney did some solid work in the centre of the park with Mooney adding a goal of his own. The trio of Banerjee, Hubbert and Khanijau will all have a rough night’s sleep thinking about the abundance of missed chances and I am sure will endeavour to be more clinical in future games. Downes was also cruelly denied what would have been his first clean sheet in nearly 2 years after conceding a late goal as a result of some suspect defending. Final Score, 5 – 1. A solid team performance.
